Himalayan Soul Rides was born out of a bond forged in the high-altitude air of the Tibetan Plateau. Founder Joey and Road Captain Deepak first met in 2014 while ascending a 20,000-foot peak in Ladakh, discovering a shared obsession for the rawest, most uncharted corners of the world. Since that first climb, they have spent over a decade criss-crossing the Himalayas, logging thousands of miles to search for the most epic and technically rewarding roads on the planet. Through every pass and plateau, they learned that while the landscapes are breathtaking, the true heart of the region lies in its people. This philosophy of deep cultural connection and relentless exploration is woven into the fabric of every tour we offer.

Joey lives near Durango, CO in the San Juan Mountains. Though based in America, his soul belongs to the Himalayas—a lifelong passion he channels into creating unforgettable journeys for his clients. A speaker of Hindi and Nepali, Joey has been riding in the Himalayas since 2014. His decade of experience ensures every route is vetted for both safety and maximum adventure.
Deepak Thakur
Road Captain
Deepak speaks English, French, Hindi, and a little bit of the language of his ancestors Lahauli. He has been guiding bikers in India and Nepal since 2016. He knows how to communicate and take care of his western groups with technical expertise and mountain wisdom. He is professional and an expert in what he does. Born and raised in the vibrant valley of Kullu Manali, his ancestral roots lie in the high-altitude valley of Lahaul, where his forefathers hailed from. This heritage provides him with an unparalleled connection to the land, ensuring our riders experience the most authentic and hidden routes in the Himalayas.
